A Word from our Pastor Concerning the Coronavirus (COVID19)

By March 12, 2020Uncategorized

Aloma Church Family,

Please take three minutes and read this statement concerning what Aloma Church has been (and will continue) doing to provide a safe and clean environment for our church family and guests. The Coronavirus (COVID19) is present in Florida and will more than likely arrive in our city at some point. We want to prepare, be wise, YET ALSO choose to live by FAITH and not fear.

Please know, unless otherwise posted, all Aloma Church worship services and Life Groups WILL BE MEETING at regularly scheduled times. Our leadership will be in constant communication with local authorities concerning any cancellations they might suggest.

We are taking the following precautions to be proactive in caring for our church family and guests:
• A professional sanitizing company will thoroughly clean the Worship Center on Friday (March 13).
• We have hand sanitizer stations at the entrances of the Worship Center and Boatwright Center.
We will be sanitizing the pews after each service. Due to time constraints between services, we are roping off a few pews in order to make sure we can properly clean each pew. We apologize in advance if you are unable to sit in your “normal seat” but please know this is only temporary.
• Soap dispensers are filled with antibacterial soap in each restroom.
We will not be passing the offering plates during our services. Please give by placing the tithe in one of the giving boxes by the entrance doors inside our Worship Center or you can give online CLICK HERE.
• We will sanitize frequently touched surfaces such as doors, handles, pews, chairs, tables, water fountains, check-in stations, and sinks.
During this time, we will be taking extra care of our Aloma Kids’ spaces. Our staff and volunteer teams will wash their hands frequently and use hand sanitizer provided in each area. All toys are sanitized before and after Sunday/Wednesday meetings and all surfaces are sanitized after each service. Parents can choose to bring children into the adult worship service. We will have crayons and a Pastor’s Pal coloring page at each entrance.
• During this season, please substitute shaking hands and hugging at church with a wave…and of course, SMILES are always encouraged.
• Our team has been formalizing a plan to maintain worship services in the event local/national authorities deem it unsafe to gather for corporate worship. In the unlikely event this happens, we will offer worship services online.

We will communicate any changes to our normal schedule through the following avenues:

• Your email we have on file
• Church Website, Facebook, Instagram
• App Notifications
• Listen to the recorded message at our INFO-LINE at 407-681-5631.

We encourage you to attend Sunday worship services and invite your friends. This is an opportunity to point people to Jesus. If you are sick or you have a weakened immune system, stay home and join with us online until you are well. Our live feed can be found at www.alomachurch.org/live

In Psalm 46, we are reminded that God is our refuge and strength, and our ever-present help in times of trouble. Let us not fear, but with confidence use this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus through our prayers, and our care for others.
